[Lydia is actually not in her room for a change. She's currently sitting in one of the study rooms in the library and she looks a lot more relaxed than she did back in her previous video. She definitely feels more rested than she's had since she got to the barge. Mostly thanks to her occasional sleeping arrangements. But she also knows she needs to find more activities for herself. She doesn't have school here and she's craving social interaction. Which is the whole point of this video.]

So I've been thinking and I think both Wardens and Inmates alike could really benefit from more social activities here at the Barge.

I know the boys are starting the Lacrosse teams and I think that's a great start but we can go a lot further. We can have movie nights and theme parties and dinners. It'd be a good way to get to know more people.

Which is why I'm looking for volunteers for a social event planning committee. Is anyone interested? Or does anyone have ideas on activities we could do?

[This comes with one of those Lydia smiles. The ones that will either make people automatically smile back at her, or if they know her, know that saying no will just be a mistake. It might have both effects on certain people.]

[She's still smiling at him, but it's a little more sincere now. Especially because she can instantly tell something is up with him.]

I'll help. [A beat.] Uh. How soon are you thinking about doing all this?

Thank you. As soon as I have enough people and ideas.

[She's definitely suspicious now.]

Why?

[Crap. King of subtlety he is not.]

No, I'm just supposed to hang out with someone later. No big deal. [Certainly no kinds of plans to cause destruction of any kind. Nope.]

[Yeah, no Stiles. That information is so not enough. And the inquisitive look on her face should make it clear she expects the rest of it. Like, right now.]

Yeah? [It's not a lie.] John Crichton. [He shrugs a little, trying to do the nonchalant thing and trying even harder not to squirm.]

Yeah? I've never met him.

[He's definitely up to something, so he gets a scrutinizing look now.]

What are you meeting with him for?

Met him my first day here. Nice guy.

[Yep. That's a problem with Stiles. He can be a world class liar with anyone who doesn't know him well, but with people like his dad and Lydia and Scott? He's terrible at it. But he doesn't want to get Lydia or Scott either one wrapped up in this, either. He doesn't want them to end up in trouble, too.]

He and Dean -- uh the last Dean that was here anyway -- were friends. We're gonna try and figure out a way to help him. [That at least, isn't entirely a lie. They're going to destroy that damn chair so that Dean doesn't end up in it, but also so no one else does either.]

[It's like everything he's telling her has chunks missing, which Lydia knows is just Stiles trying to BS because usually when he has a theory or something he's thinking out loud about, he makes more sense than this.]

Help him with what?

Readjust to being back on the Barge?

Stiles.

[Get a I'm-not-buying-it look.]

What's going on?

[His shoulders droop a little and he rubs a hand over his face, sighing softly.]

Look. We're gonna do this thing. And I don't want anyone else getting dragged into it. Can you just trust me on this, please?

[Yeah, now she's really worried. Because it sounds really bad and coming back if the worst happens or not, she doesn't want him getting hurt.]

How dangerous is it?

[He shakes his head at that.]

It's not so much dangerous as it is...there's a slight chance I may end up down in Zero for a few days.

So it's illegal.

[She shakes her head. She really shouldn't be surprised that even in a prison, where he's a Warden, Stiles is involved with something illegal.]

You're a Warden, Stiles. How do you know you can even end up there? And why can't you go to the Admiral for help with whatever it is you need?

[He leans back in his chair, sighing softly at her expression and rubbing a hand over his face. If only it was that simple. He's always been willing to cross lines, to bend and break the rules whenever he deemed it necessary. At least this time, he's trying to keep other people out of it, at least?]

Because it's too risky. And if we try the Admiral and he's not willing to do what needs to be done, then we've tipped him off about our plans. And I can't... [He shakes his head again.]

[She always tries to follow the rules, but she's learned by now that sometimes they need to be broken for a good reason. Especially when it involves the supernatural and when they have to hide it from everyone else.

Which obviously isn't the case here. But she knows Stiles and she is sure there has to be a good reason why he doesn't want to risk it.]

How important is it to help Dean? And I'm guessing you haven't told Scott, either.

[He's relieved in some way that she knows him well enough to know that at this point, when he breaks the rules, it's because it is important and not just because he's bored.]

Extremely. And it's not just about Dean. I mean it started out with that initially but...there's something on this ship that could be dangerous to anyone if it falls into the wrong hands.

[He grimaces a little at the mention of his best friend. Nope. He definitely hasn't mentioned it to Scott.]

You're guessing right.

[Lydia sighs and shakes her head. Because for Stiles to keep something from Scott? It has to be really bad.]

You don't have to tell me what it is you're doing, but if I can help, Stiles, I want you to ask me for help.

Because it does sound dangerous beyond just being locked up for a few days.

I promise you it's not dangerous the way you're probably thinking it is. I just don't want anyone to get in trouble over it.

[Because in the tiny chance that he gets kicked off the Barge, he knows that she or Scott will still have their deals to fall back upon.]

[She still hates whatever this is, but she just sighs.]

Just let me know when you're about to do it so I'll know to look for you if you vanish.

I will. And I'll be careful.

[He does careful SO WELL.]

[Yeah, she knows.]

The kind of careful you'd expect Scott and I to be. Not your I'm-going-after-superpowerful-supernatural-creatures-with-a-baseball-bat kind of careful.

[He kinda winces at that. Since the last time he used his baseball bat for anything he wound up getting zapped by foxfire and ended up possessed.]

Yeah. Got it.
