[Lydia doesn't look too happy, but it's hard to tell what, exactly, is off about her. She's definitely concerned and overall, there's something heavier about her posture, her expression.

She's sitting by her desk and beside her communicator is, a pile of the books given to her for Christmas about the supernatural and about banshees. She's been studying.]

I know a lot of people have been feeling off since we got back from the port. I was in the infirmary myself for over a day. But there's something else going on. Something about the Barge is different, I don't know what, exactly. But I can feel it.

It's not death, but almost like a shadow. We all need to be careful. [She knows not everyone she considers her friend knows she's a banshee. But she cares about them so she wants to warn them. She's just not ready to announce it to the entire barge and cause panic.]

[Andrew]
[That's not the only thing worrying her, however. She has her warden item, her key, in her hand and is looking down at it when she starts the video to her inmate.]

Hey. I think we need to talk.

[Spam - Kira]
[She has heard about Kira being awake again after her time at the infirmary. She hasn't been over there to see her yet, though. And she hasn't really talked to her since the day she learned about Jackson.

And she knows it's about time for her to apologize. Or-- at least make things clearer. So she makes her way over to Kira's room and knocks on her door, hoping she's actually there so they can get this over with.]

[Allison]
[She feels silly, leaving her a message like this. But she used to write her texts before coming here, before Allison's arrival. Of things she needed to talk to her best friend about. And she has been talking to her in her room, but right now she feels like she can't leave because she has research to do. To stop someone else from getting hurt. So this will have to do.]

I need you to wake up. If something bad's about to happen, [And it is.] I need to know for sure you're okay.

[Jean]
[She's been meaning to do this since he arrived, but there's been so much going on, she never actually followed through with it. But now that she's talking to him again, she figures he's waited long enough.]

Hey Jean, can I ask you something?

[It had been so long ago. Almost a year now, but he still remembers the day she'd shown up on the Barge. He just hadn't known that the voices of the dead had gotten quieter when he'd shown up at her door.

He reaches up and cups her cheek too, searching her eyes.]

Oh. [His mouth tugs upwards almost involuntarily.]

I guess...I never thought...

Yeah. Aside from that.

[He nods, resting his hands on his legs.]

This place is...[He shakes his head and falls silent.]

[She smiles a little when he does, then shakes her head slightly.]

I didn't either. But it was pretty clear while we were at the port. [And maybe it wasn't just because he's her anchor, maybe it was being able to find him and make sure he was safe, too.]

And it makes sense, right?

[He tucks a strand of hair behind her ear, expression soft and open as he nods. Because it does make sense. He'd once told her that he'd always thought they had some kind of unspoken connection. He hadn't been lying or trying to use it as a come on. As far as he can remember, Lydia's been the only girl he's ever had feelings for. It's never wavered. He'd just gotten better at hiding it. At keeping it to himself. Now he knows he doesn't have to. And while he doesn't know why they're connected, he feels it.

He presses a soft kiss to the corner of her mouth, then leans his head against hers.]

Yeah. It does.

Not all over the barge, not yet. But I did around here and it feels-- pretty even.

[She sighs softly.]

I have patrol with Arthas soon, I'll try it then.

Yeah. Allison and Kira were also out.

[Allison still is, but he's just now waking up, he doesn't need to be worried.

She nods a little at his request.]

Of course, I'll stop by the dining hall, I'll be there in ten. [Heels, stairs. Might as well give herself a little extra time.]

Yeah. I mean, aside from feeling this. I'm fine. It only lasted about a day.

[And it was both disgusting because of the nonstop bleeding from her ear. And enough to scare Stiles.]

Are you okay?

That's what I head, I haven't asked him yet.

[She shakes her head, switches to private.]

He told me he was gonna try to escape. One day, I assume. I'm surprised he didn't try while we were there.

[Lydia nods a little.]

It takes a while to get used to things. But it's never really-- normal.

It's not always bad, though.

[She leans into his touch, holding his gaze and smiling softly as she does. If there's one thing that's good about the supernatural, it's definitely this. She's never felt so close to someone as she does with Stiles. She knows it's not all just because of them being in love with each other now. That it has to do with the ritual and their connection. But it's the one thing since she was bitten and started feeling all the banshee side effects that she'd never change.

When he leans in, she closes her eyes for a second, then turns her head and presses her lips to his a second after he speaks, kissing him tenderly as she shifts closer to him.]

Let me know if you feel anything else, alright? [It's not really an order, just a request. That was the best way to get results out of the people you trusted in the field, because screaming at them when they're uncertain and terrified often doesn't do much but make the anxiety worse.

Besides, he might not know exactly how Lydia's powers work, but he trusts her instincts anyway.]

You doing okay otherwise?

[She has learned a long time ago how important it is to share what she's feeling as a banshee with the rest of the pack. Since the murders related to the nemeton ritual, since she learned what she could do, she's been very aware of that.]

I will. [She smiles, but it's a tired and small smile.]

Yeah, I'm okay. Side effects from the port are over with. You?

[He nods.]

Have you spoken to anyone else on board? There are people here who've travelled a lot, seen a lot. They may not have the same kind of banshees in their world but they might be able to help you.

I love you.

[He whispers the words against her mouth. He doesn't know what this new problem is going to turn out to be, but he knows that whatever it is, they'll face it together.]

What is normal?

[He looks down.]

I love you, too.

[She smiles against his lips then shifts slightly on the bed, adjusting until she can pull him down with her and they can both lay down.]

I don't know why you were on your way over, but I hope you didn't have plans for anything, anytime soon.

I have.

I spoke with Vergil and now Dean. Vergil has met banshees in his world before, but they were different. [And then there's Sylvanas who's an actual banshee on board, but they don't exactly get along.]

And Dean knows of them. Most of the other banshees are dead, though. And I'm not. My body is pretty much just human.

[Her face falls at the question and she can't help but feel guilty.]

No luck with your memory yet?

Keep a sheet of paper with you, jot down wherever it feels strongest and when you have more then one area call me and we can see if there is a pattern to it.

[ He shakes his head some as he comes back, but says nothing about Arthas only the patrol.] That works, just let me know if it seems worse. I will look through the books I have and see if I can find anything, I doubt it though.

Maybe he did try, but he couldn't manage. [That... actually makes him feel a little sad for Arthas, even if he's kind of a dick. It must be hard to have been home, and then be whisked away again.]

They weren't able to tell you anything that would help you? I'm sorry.

[He had to spend more than half his life having to work things out for himself. He wouldn't want that for anyone else.]

[He nods - and of course, he wants to know,] Are they awake now?

[Admittedly, he looks a little relived. His stomach is eating his backbone, here.] Thanks. [That's plenty of time to shower, for him, so he'll at least be clean and not smelling like a guy who's been sleeping in the same clothes for two weeks when she gets there.] I'm not going anywhere.

Of course. I don't know how much longer I'll be here, though.

Keep waiting.

I'll do that.

[All of it, writing things down and letting him know if it gets worse.

And then she adds a smile.]
