[022. Do you wanna build a snowman?]

[When Lydia wakes up that morning her bed is much bigger than she's used to. Her room is the same, but different and it's colder than it should be at home.

Once the lights in her room are on, after she takes a peek out the door and doesn't find the rest of her house, she finds the phone there and has an urge to start the video.

She appears on the camera with hair uncharacteristically out of place, and still in her pajamas.]

Mom? Dad?

[Lydia decided to explore the place she's at. It's not grandma's house but she feels safe enough in this place and she knows her friends are out there. So she dresses herself and makes her way around the ship until she finds the deck. And snow!

She'll start with building a snowman.]



(ooc: Lydia is obviously affected. Replies will come from pricessariel. Although she doesn't remember exactly what happened or what the Barge is, she'll know if people she's friends with approach her and will be inclined to trust them.)

[He'd gotten very lost, and through a combination of luck and instinct he'd found his way to the deck.

He's 9, but he looks all of six where he stands in a little nook on deck, looking at Lydia building the snowman.]

[Lydia looks over her shoulder at the little boy and cocks her head, then smiles and nods.]

You can help me find arms for him.

[There's another little girl waving hello from in between two German Shepherds. All three are snuggled into a vivid tiger-print faux-fur bedspread.]

Hello! I don't think adults get to come here, it's just for us!

[Lydia is more worried about what she's seeing than her parents not being there, though.]

[Allison is still trying to figure out what to make of this place. It's not home, but she's pretty sure it's not a bad place. Mommy and Daddy aren't around, but there's a bunny rabbit. She knows the bunny is hers, and she knows her name...she even knows she has friends around.

She's still trying to see if maybe she can call Daddy on her phone when she finds a face that's...not familiar, but...

A pudgy little face peers into the feed closely.]

Are you tryin' to call your Mommy and Daddy, too?

[Lydia purses her lips together and nods, squinting at the little girl.]

You don't have to get so close to the screen.

Oooooh a snow man!

[Kira isn't worried about where her parents are. She'll find them, or they'll find her, eventually. She's having way more fun exploring the ship, climbing things, and finding all the spaces she can improbably fit herself into it.

But then of course there's the deck, all slippy and slidey and full of snow.]

[Lydia isn't worried either. She wishes it was hot so she could go swimming but she's only played with snow once before, so she's happy, too!

She looks over at the girl and nods.]

Yeah, my fingers are getting really cold.

Your parents aren't here. But it's alright, you're safe. It's just going to be a while until they can come pick you up.

[ Just try to ignore that it's a ten year old telling you this. ]

[She doesn't look too worried about being left alone, though.]

I don't care. I'd rather Grandma picks me up, though.

Snow!

[This is, for the moment, enough to get him over the absolute terrifying vastness of the deck. He just angles his gaze a little lower, focuses on something more on his level, and a delighted smile springs across his face.]

There's so much!

[He runs forward and literally throws himself down to slide across the deck, coming to a stop just short of her snow man.]

Oh, cool! Can I help?

[Lydia was on her knees carefully smoothing the snow around the base until he showed up.

Now she's on her feet, hands on her hips as she stares at him in horror.]

After you nearly destroyed it!?

Lydia? I can't find my parents either!

[She smiles at him then shrugs a shoulder.]

It's okay, another girl said they aren't here but my grandma is gonna come and get me in a while.

[ A small head peaked around the door of the deck. He was looking for someone else, he had never seen snow before. In his short years he had not experienced snow in southern italy yet. Slowly walking out into it his eyes went a bit wide. What was this strange stuff? ]

[Lydia sees someone staring, she smiles when she realizes how little he is, littler than her.]

[Gene has never really seen anything close to this much snow before, and there's absolutely nothing close to winter gear available in his room, so he's wearing his new sweater and his older self's combat uniform jacket, which looks like a trench coat on him. Or a dress. He spots Lydia a minute or so after he stepped out on deck, and he grins widely when he sees what she's doing. He scampers over, totally ignoring how cold and wet his feet are - his shoes aren't exactly waterproof.] Are you buildin' a snowman?

[Lydia is also wearing her new sweater underneath her coat, which also goes all the way down to her feet. But she's warm.

She eyes the boy then nods.]

Obviously. Do you wanna help?

[He's having a weird day. He woke up to find a sweater he definitely didn't ask for laying on his desk and he'd avoided it, only to leave the room and find even more Christmas decorations all over every inch of the barge. And the deck is full of snow. Piles and piles of snow.

Holy crap.

Stiles blinks as he spots a small redhead building a snowman and he cocks his head, suddenly wary. All the air leaves his lungs as he catches a glimpse of her face and he stops in his track, staring with wide eyes.

No freaking way.]

[Lydia turns to look at him when he calls her name and then pauses. Because it's a grown man. And she's not sure she should talk to him. Except, she's not afraid of him. And he knows her name.

But she doesn't know his. So she gets up and cocks her head, staring at him for a moment.]

How do you know my name?

[A lavender creature a little smaller than a human child floats through the deck door.

It's so white! And what is this? A girl!

It peers at her with big, purple eyes. Its voice is faint telepathy, not invasive, more a broad brush of inquisitive emotion than actual words.

[Lydia senses something, when she turns around, she gasps, more in surprise than in fear. Slowly, she gets on her feet, eyes wide as she looks at it.]

Oh my God, you're so cute, hi!

[She's a little overwhelmed by the fact that it's a cute animal she can't identify, and it's flying, like magic.]
