[Lydia took a break from sitting with Stiles and Kira, watching Scott as he slowly recovers from the death toll. She took Prada for a walk, showered, then got ready to go back to Kira's. But before, she wants to throw a topic out there. It's something that has been on her mind for a while now.

And after her talk with Kira about who hurt Scott and with Steve about who hurt him, after seeing what happened to Souji. After hearing about what Arthas did, she doesn't feel like they can wait any longer.]

I know everyone is still settling back in after the port. That a lot of you are still recovering from deaths and injuries, but I want to open a subject up for discussion.

I feel like there have been a lot more deaths on the barge lately. Both from inmates and wardens. And caused by inmates and wardens. I know a while back someone brought up taking the death toll for granted, and I don't remember what led to that discussion, but I agree.

We're all taking it for granted. If we die, we think we're guaranteed to come back. What if it stops working?

But even more importantly: why are we allowing ourselves to kill each other? Why are we dealing with murder as if there were no consequences?

I understand we don't always have control over our actions, I understand floods happen and we become affected. Infected. We become other people. But they are rare occasions when we're all out of control.

There is always someone around who can see things clearly. There's always someone who can take control and stop the people who are affected from hurting each other.

My suggestion -- and I would love to hear what the Admiral has to say about this -- is for us to find a system, an emergency system, where we can cap everyone's abilities -- human or otherwise, Inmates and Wardens alike -- if they become a threat to anyone. At any given time.

And I'd like to hear opinions everyone else might have on this.

It's better than doing nothing. And when he gets out, can't you just put him right back in?

Maybe it's how Zero should work.

Do you really think zero would do you any good if you were sent there? Would it make you think about what you did and come out a better person?

You saying I'm like him?

I don't care about him being a better person. I care about him going away.

No, I'm not saying you're like him. But I don't think that place would have a positive effect on anyone.

We don't get to make that call, the Admiral does. So we'll have to find another way.

[Invoking the Admiral's will makes her go quiet.]

... Where were you? On the Barge or off?

I was on the port, but nowhere near the battle.

Why?

I was on the Barge.

What did I miss? [Because clearly she missed something. And now she's worried.]

Dying twenty times, probably.

I'm so sorry, Tiffany. [And she absolutely means that.]

It's no wonder you're angry.

I saw horrible, awful things.

I want him to pay.

[She switches to private because-- this doesn't seem like a conversation they should have publicly.]

The Admiral?

Do you wanna talk about what you saw?

No, not the Admiral. No.

[Very, very adamant about that.]

Do you think talking will help? I already told a couple people, but I don't feel totally better yet; not by a long shot.

I think it will. It might be worse when you're actually talking about it, but it might be a relief later. [It works for her, with specific people. But it's always a step in the right direction.]

[private audio]

... Well, I died, like I said. I'm still under some death tolls right now - hurting, feeling sick, that kind of thing. I saw a lot of violence, but it weren't normal fight violence, it was Barge violence. Crazy, over the top, like a horror movie. I saw my friend Mason get ripped open, and I couldn't help him.

[lydiascreams]

[It reminds her of the time the Joker took over the Barge and this whole place became a horror show. It reminds her of Stiles almost getting killed, of Allison dying, and of her feeling both while she was lost in an eternal roller coaster.]

The Barge is like that sometimes. I'd say it gets easier, but I still find it pretty overwhelming. And I've been here for a year.

Your world back home-- it didn't have anything supernatural, right? No monsters, no creatures that shouldn't exist. Just humans?

[private audio]

[tucky]

Nothing like those monsters, if that's what you mean.

[private audio]

It is. Not all of those things were real in my world.

But some of them were. I guess it made it easier to adjust to this place.

[private audio]

[tucky]

I didn't think it was that hard to adjust either. I don't know why.

[private audio]

[lydiascreams]

Well, the day to day isn't as insane as floods, right?

But I'm glad you didn't think it was hard overall. I can tell you more about the supernatural if you want. We can meet at the library sometimes and I can teach you. So you won't be caught by surprise again.

Can you teach me how to fight the bad ones?

[private audio]

I can teach you about them, what works against them.

But I'm not much of a fighter, either. Allison would be a better person to help you with that, if you mean physically fight them.
