[She watched Allison's announcement. First with a horrifying fear that she was leaving to go back home, to die. She almost interjected then. She almost told her she'd leave herself if Allison wanted to stay.

But then she explained and Lydia let it go. She could understand needing space, needing time. This is the reason why she's been sitting up on the deck by herself since their argument. Hiding, afterall.

And while she's not done with her quiet time, she'd not done thinking about everything she said to Allison, and Allison said to her, she knows she needs to reach out to the others and tell them what she knows.]

[Her face is pale when she starts the video, and eyes might still be red, but she's not crying anymore. Her voice is flat when she speaks, though.]

Someone needs to talk to her. Make sure this place is safe. [Lydia hesitates and takes a deep breath.]

What happened at the other Barge-- she's not thinking straight. [And Lydia apparently just made it a lot worse.]

[She'll just get straight to the point with this one.]

What is this place you suggested for Allison?

[He lets out a breath, rubbing a hand over his face.]

Yeah. Maybe Isaac will have a better shot at getting through to her. She sorta...hung up on me when I tried to talk to her.

That's what I'm hoping for.

[Lydia sighs, leaning back against the deck chair she's still occupying and running a hand over her face.]

What did she say to you?

[He nods at that.]

To keep an eye on you and make sure you don't do anything you'll regret later. [The word she'd actually used is stupid, and he wouldn't soften it for a majority. But for Lydia and Allison, always.]

I don't know what she thinks you're gonna do.

[Lydia sighs softly and closes her eyes. Because she knows. She knows Allison too well, she knows what Allison is thinking. And even though it hurts that her best friend accepted the end of their friendship so easily, she obviously hurt Allison a lot.]

She thinks I'm gonna go after him. Use myself as a bait of some sort. Do something stupid.

Allison thinks I'll try to prove to her I can take care of myself. [But all Lydia wants is to prove to Allison that she isn't responsible for their safety on her own.

[And it all clicks together. He sighs and rubs a hand over his face. He doesn't think that Lydia will go after Jerry alone. She's not stupid enough to believe that she could take on a vampire who has it out for all of them from Beacon Hills. Especially not alone. Not when Jerry's attacked the werewolves of the pack with no signs of being worse for the wear.

But.

He also gets that she probably does want to prove herself. It's something they have in common.]

Maybe we can come up with another way to prove that. [His voice is quiet.]

[Lydia looks up at his words, her eyes slightly brighter than usual, because of tears. But as she stares at Stiles, the smallest hint of a smile appears on her lips.]

Have any ideas? [She's fairly sure there is nothing the two of them can't come up together. Even if they can't execute it themselves.]

[He shakes his head slightly.]

Not yet. But between the two of us, we'll figure it out. We're good at that.

[And it's just one more case of Stiles saying what she needs to hear. Mostly.

She smiles a little more and nods.]

Come up here and sit with me? See if we can figure it out? [She's not even sure she wants to think about it right now, she just wants him with her.]

Yeah. I'll be right there. [He offers her a soft smile. And he's not sure they'll come up with something right away, but they'll figure it out eventually. Together.]
