Lydia sighed as she looked down at her phone, then nodded. "Yeah." She wasn't actually planning on calling the boys. She was going to text them that she was with the deputy and hopefully that was going to be enough. Especially once he crossed his information with his dad.

But she could take the hint that he needed a moment, so she nodded at him. "Go ahead and make your call," she said, pointing to her right. "I'll be in the kitchen when you're done."
