Princess Lydia is from the Frozen universe. She is from the Kingdom of Mairtine, her parents are the King and Queen but they don't pay much attention to her. So Lydia spends most of her time talking to the staff of the castle and yes, sneaking around with guys a princess should never be seen with.
Like Elsa, Lydia has a secret. She was touched by magic when she was a baby, because her dad betrayed the trust of merchants from the North, who turned out to be powerful witches. Her magic is
Darkness Manipulation.
Lydia took a while to control her abilities, with the help of witches and wizards her parents hired to help her since they didn't know how to deal with her, nor did they want to. But being that the most powerful of those wizards was a troll, when he was found, he wasn't welcome by the people of Mairtine and was chased out of the Kingdom.
She lost her trusted mentor and the only person she was really close with and lost control, setting an eternal night over her kingdom. The darkness became smoke and got thicker the more upset she became, causing it to suffocate people on accident.
That's how Lydia ended up on the barge as an
inmate. Her powers are weaker now than they were back home, but she still might cause a whole hallway to become completely dark if she loses control over her powers.
